THE NEW STAR OF INDIAN CRICKET PRITHVI SHAW
Prithvi Shaw was born on 9 November, 1999. In November, 2013
He scored 546 Runs in 330 balls in Harris Shield elite division match that
contained 85 fours and 5 sixes. It was the
highest score in Indian schools cricket until the record was surpassed by Pranav
Dhanawade on 4 January 2016 and is presently the 4th highest score by
any batsman in any form of the organised game. The innings attracted
significant media attention, particularly as it came only four days after the
official retirement from International cricket of Sachin Tendulkar, the great
batsman of India who had scored 326 in the same tournament in 1988.
Prithvi Shaw is a right hand opening batsman and right arm
off spin bowler. In November
2016, Shaw was part of the India Under-19 squad that won the youth Asia Cup in
Sri Lanka. Two months later, He made
his first-class cricket debut for Mumbai in the semi-finals
of the 2016–17 Ranji Trophy match on 1 January 2017. He scored a
century in the second innings of that match which was helpful to lead the won
his team and he was man of the match. In September, 2017, he also scored a
century in his debut match of the Duleep Trophy and equaled the record held by Great
Sachin Tendulkar who had scored for the first time a century each in his debut
matches of Ranji Trophy and Duleep Trophy. Shaw
became the youngest player to score a century on Duleep Trophy debut, a record
previously held by Great Sachin Tendulkar. In December 2017, he was named captain of
India's squad for the 2018 Under-19 Cricket World Cup. He led India in the
final where they beat Australia by 8 wickets to win their fourth Under-19 World
Cup. Given an opportunity after their IPL campaign
flagged midway, Shaw impressed head coach Ricky Ponting with his fearless
batting against the new ball; ending with 245 runs in nine innings at a strike
rate of 153.12. However, it was his performances for India A, both in England
and at home against West Indies A and South Africa A, that gave wings to his
India aspirations.
Today
on 4th October, 2018, he made his International Test Cricket debut for India
and on First day of the match against West-Indies at Rajkot he has made 134
Runs in 154 balls which contains 19 fours with 87.01 strike rate. He became 15th
Indian Cricket to score a century in debut Test match. Shaw has made century at
18 years 329 days, he also the second youngest Indian who ever to score a test
century after the great Sachin Tendulker. Sachin Tendulker made test century at 17 years
107 days in the year of 1990 against England at Manchester Test with a fine
unbeaten knock of 119. With Prithvi Shaw's special knock India dominate the
West-Indies on First day of Rajkot Test, has scored 364/4. Let's
