Who will replace Tim Pane?

Khwaja is also the captain of Australia's domestic matches in Queensland. He was given this responsibility in 2015 after the demise of James Hopes. 3.     Travis Head
25-year-old Travis Head was named vice-captain of the Australia team along with Pat Cummins. He had a chance to captain the match between Graeme Hick XII and Brad Haddin XII before the Ashes series began. At the age of just 21, he was made the captain of South Australia. He was the youngest captain in the first-class history of 122-year-old South Australia.

He is also the captain of the Adelaide Strikers in the Big Bash League. He has had the opportunity to captain Australia A on several occasions. This shows that he has experience in captaining other countries as well as domestic. Head has played 11 Tests and 42 ODIs for Australia. His batting average is around 46 in Tests. 4.     Matthew Wade
Despite Tim Paine is in the Australia team, wicketkeeper batsman Matthew Wade sealed his place in the team by performing brilliantly for the home match and Australia A. He also scored a century in the first Test of the Ashes series. He has played 23 Tests and 94 ODIs for Australia so far. He also has a lot of captaincy experience.

He is also the captain of Tasmania at home. In early 2017, he was also named captain of the Australia ODI team. After Steven Smith was injured, it was decided to make him captain for the New Zealand series but he was unfit. For this reason, he could not get a chance to captain. If Tim Paine is dropped from the team, he can play the role of captain as well as wicket-keeper.
